French Citizen by way of Ivory Coast Jr. middleweight Michel Soro (26-1-1, 16 KOs) scored a spectacular 4th Round Upset TKO over WBO #2, IBF #5 Jr Middleweight Title holder Glen “Jersey Boy” Tapia (23-2, 15 KOs) on Friday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Soro rocked Tapia with a barrage of punches in 4th Round and Tapia refused to take a knee to recover and forced referee David Fields’ hand to waved off the fight at 2:10. Soro claimed the NABO and USBA junior middleweight titles and was very ecstatic in his post fight interview.
Meanwhile, a dejected Tapia told Top Rank’s anchor Crystina Poncher inside the Ring after the fight, “I could’ve recovered, but mark my words, I’ll be back.”
